How does the online English level test work?

The free English level test consists of 50 questions. 

You must answer all of them in less than 10 minutes. The level test starts with basic level questions and gradually increases the difficulty.

Our tip? 

Don’t get stuck and dedicate too much time on one question, as you only have 10 minutes.

After you've done the online English exam

Once you’re finished with the online level test, you’ll see the correct answers. 

You will then complete a short oral test with one of our teachers through Skype, Zoom or Google Meet. 

This is how we determine what your final level of English will be.

  • The oral test has no cost. 
  • You just have to contact us and we’ll set the day and time for the last part!

Next steps?

In addition to giving you the written test results, our native teachers will recommend (free of charge) which would be the best English course for you.

I.e. an intensive English course, business English classes, etc.

CEFR framework

At Nativos Language Consultants we follow best practice for the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It’s a performance standards created by the Council of Europe. 

The CEFT is an internationally recognized standard with three levels:

  • Basic User
  • Independent User
  • Proficient User

The English levels range from A1 (lowest), A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 (highest).
