Technical Translations
Technical translations are among the most difficult ones.
Why?
Because without the correct terminology, the consequences can be devastating.
As a technical translator, you have to get it right every time.
We work with all industries. Software and Hardware UI, medical translations… We translate it all!
Here’s an overview of our technical translation services.
It’s great to have someone who always delivers on time, or more often than not, ahead of schedule.
Technical document translations
Your team probably knows exactly which terminology your company uses. Our professional translators do too, as they specialise in various industries.
We’ll make sure the translated text is clear and easy to understand. Examples:
- User guides
- Contracts
- Patents and patent applications
- Training materials
- Tenders
- Operating instructions
- Pharmaceutical guides
- Manuals
- Safety data sheets (SDS)
- Troubleshooting guides
Rewriting documents and manuals
Many companies get their engineers to write their user manuals.
Their strength is obviously the technical part, but they’re not always great at getting key messages across.
Our technical writers are!
Our team at Nativos can rewrite manuals and technical documents.
Based on your materials, we will optimise the user manuals to make sure that your customers fully understand and can easily follow the instructions.
Clear.
Chrystal clear.
If you translate a user manual and the instructions aren’t clear, your customers might not get the hang of how to use your product.
So they might give you a bad review.
Or even worse, dangerous situations could appear.
It’s also an art to say more, with less words.
This is why it’s best to get technical translations done by a professional agency.
Technical Marketing Translation
If your marketing team needs assistance, we can align our work and help out with your technical marketing translations.
Are you planning on launching a new product launch or service?
If you’re short-staffed and need help rewriting or optimising texts and materials, our team of experts are at your service.
We’ll make sure all your content keeps the same style and feeling.
Focus groups and testing
Our agency also perform tests and focus groups with users for market research purposes.
This way your business makes sure that everything is perfectly understood.
Our trained moderators will lead the sessions in the local language.
We can organise focus groups around any technical topic, product, or service.
Legislation
From a legislation point of view, you might need to adapt your technical translations.
If you’re launching a new product or expanding an existing product to new countries, it’s important to adapt to the local legislation.
Our team will make sure you’re compliant. One thing less for you to worry about.
Technical localisation
We offer technical localisation services.
Localisation means that you adapt your service or product to local conditions.
You must adapt to the culture, language, legislation and population of the market where you’re launching.
For example, even the word localisation is spelt differently in American and British English (localization versus localisation).
Many words also have a different meaning depending on if you’re in the UK, the US, or Australia.

Revisions
Depending on the nature of the technical translation, our revisers make sure we deliver a job that we are truly proud of.
This includes revising both content and style guides.
Having said that, sometimes a client will have some feedback or questions regarding the content.
As language nerds, we highly encourage our clients to let us know their feedback.
We love getting this right.
Late changes
Sometimes we receive late changes.
We’re more than happy to incorporate these to make sure your translation is perfect (late changes are a translator’s worst nightmare, but hey, we totally understand the need).

FAQs for technical translations
Yes.
We are all native, professional, technical translators. We are experts in our fields and used to providing technical translations. We each have (at least) 10 years of experience in business settings.
Generally speaking, yes. Please get in touch or send the documents. Give us as much information as you can, and we’ll explain more to make sure we’re on the same page.
Pretty much all formats are fine. I.e. Word, Excel, pdf, etc.
Let us know if it’s important to keep the original formats. The price might depend on your needs.
We typically charge per word based on the source text. I.e. if we translate from English to Spanish the target content tends to be roughly 25% longer.
The price is based on how many words you have in the source document (English in this case).
We always send a quote before so you know exactly how much it will cost you. If the texts need to be localised the price might vary.
Our technical translations are usually Spanish to English, or English to Spanish
Other popular languages are
- Arabic
- Catalan
- Danish
- Dutch
- French
- German
- Italian
- Russian
- Swedish
That depends on how many words your content is, and on the scope of the translation.
If the same translator handles the full document, the maximum word per day is around 2500. Add some time for revisions, etc.
We also offer urgent technical translations, but that obviously makes the price go up a bit. If you can, plan in advance to keep the price down.
